Canadian mixed martial arts fans can now experience UFC numbered events on par with the rest of the world, thanks to a recent shift to Paramount+. This change comes as a result of a new media rights agreement, concluding a previous arrangement with Rogers SportsNet. All numbered UFC cards will now be streamed on the Paramount+ platform.
While Rogers SportsNet will continue to broadcast UFC Fight Night events, the numbered cards will have a different viewing structure. Paramount+ will exclusively feature the main card portion of these numbered events, with Rogers SportsNet airing the preliminary bouts in real-time. This adjustment is a welcome development for Canadian MMA enthusiasts who were previously at a disadvantage, as international viewers could often access numbered events for free, while Canadian fans were required to pay for pay-per-view access.
The partnership with SportsNet originally began in 2024, establishing a multi-year deal. This followed a period in the 2010s when TSN held the Canadian media rights for the UFC.
Dana White Comments on UFC Broadcast Changes in Canada
In a press release addressing this significant shift for Canadian MMA viewing habits, UFC President Dana White stated:
“Beginning in 2027, Paramount+ subscribers in Canada will get every UFC Numbered Event main card live, at no additional cost. Paramount has been an incredible partner that understands the power of UFC, and together we’re going to make it easier than ever for fans in Canada to watch the biggest fights in the sport. I love Canada and I’m very excited for the fans to be able to enjoy the Paramount experience.”
