Hometown Heroes Take Center Stage at MVP MMA Event

Most Valuable Promotions is gearing up for its event on Saturday, May 16th, with all 22 fighters successfully making weight during Friday’s weigh-ins, setting a positive tone for the weekend. This card is particularly significant for the Southern California-based competitors, who will have the opportunity to fight in front of their home crowd.

Albert Morales

A seasoned mixed martial artist with previous UFC, Bellator, and Up Next Fighting appearances, Albert Morales, nicknamed “The Belizean Warrior,” trains and resides less than 30 miles from the Intuit Dome, the venue for this high-profile event. Having recently finished five of his last eight fights by knockout, Morales, a veteran of 30 professional bouts, is aiming to deliver another spectacular performance on Saturday night.

Jeff Creighton

Jeff “Jazzy” Creighton, who has been on the verge of a major breakthrough, first gained attention by upsetting Joey Davis in Bellator. He has since competed in LFA and The Ultimate Fighter. With 8 wins in his last 9 MMA contests, Creighton, who trains at Teams MMA in Chula Vista, California, is looking to make a strong statement against former Bellator champion Jason Jackson. Creighton hails from Poway, California.

Jake Babian

Though originally from Hawaii, Jake “The Barbabian” Babian has established Southern California as his fighting home. A multiple-time Hawaiian jiu-jitsu champion, Babian honed his skills in local promotions like UNF and Lights Out Fighting Championship, earning his spot on this significant card. Known for his formidable grappling and powerful ground-and-pound, Babian’s matchup against Namo Fazil is anticipated to be an explosive encounter.

Nate Diaz

The 209 area code is intrinsically linked to Stockton, California, and its fighting icon, Nate Diaz. He returns to the MMA octagon for the first time since his submission victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 in September 2023. Diaz will face Mike Perry, who has also been active in bare-knuckle boxing during his MMA hiatus. Diaz consistently draws a large following, and his scheduled five-round bout with Perry promises both intense action and engaging personality.

Chris Avila

As a teammate of Nate Diaz, Chris Avila often finds himself competing on the same cards as his mentor. With experience in both boxing and MMA, Avila hopes to enhance his record when he faces Brandon Jenkins on Saturday night.

Don’t miss this exciting event on Saturday, May 16th. The preliminary card will be broadcast on YouTube at 3 p.m. PST/6 p.m. EST, and the main card will stream on Netflix at 6 p.m. PST/9 p.m. EST.
