Nate Diaz Eyes Charles Oliveira Fight for UFC Return

Nate Diaz has stated that he has no immediate plans to retire from combat sports. He has identified Charles Oliveira as his preferred opponent for a potential return to the UFC.

Diaz is set to make his MMA comeback this weekend after a four-year absence in an event presented by MVP and Netflix, where he will face Mike Perry. Prior to this anticipated fight, Diaz was interviewed by Ariel Helwani. When asked about re-signing with the UFC, Diaz expressed his reluctance to be bound by contracts that would restrict him from competing in other promotions.

However, he indicated that once he has concluded his current commitments outside the octagon, a return to the UFC is a possibility.

Nate Diaz Targets Charles Oliveira’s BMF Belt

Nate Diaz has expressed his interest in fighting the newly crowned BMF champion, Charles Oliveira, for his UFC return. Diaz shared his thoughts on Oliveira’s performance at UFC 326, where the Brazilian secured the BMF title by defeating Max Holloway, primarily through wrestling. Following Oliveira’s victory, Diaz made it clear that he intends to challenge for the BMF belt.

During his conversation with Ariel Helwani, Diaz specifically named “Do Bronx” as the fighter he would like to face should he return to the octagon.

“It was hard to jump back in, something I tried so hard for so many years to get out of. I can’t just jump right back in… Oliveira out of everybody. I’m gonna go back and get that belt.”

Nate Diaz also mentioned in the same interview that a trilogy fight with Conor McGregor is something he is open to, but he believes the timing is not right at this moment. He feels both he and McGregor have unfinished business to attend to before a potential third encounter.

Nate Diaz is Coming for Charles Oliveira’s BMF Belt

Nate Diaz aims to fight the newly crowned BMF champion, Charles Oliveira, upon his potential return to the UFC. Diaz expressed his dissatisfaction with Oliveira’s performance at UFC 326, where the Brazilian, in a BMF title fight, opted to wrestle and dethrone Max Holloway using that strategy. Immediately after Oliveira won the BMF strap, Diaz made it evident that he is coming for that belt.

During the aforementioned interview with Ariel Helwani, Diaz identified “Do Bronx” as the fighter he would want to face upon his return to the octagon:

“It was hard to jump back in, something I tried so hard for so many years to get out of. I can’t just jump right back in… Oliveira out of everybody. I’m gonna go back and get that belt.”

Nate Diaz also stated in the same interview that a third fight with Conor McGregor is something he looks forward to, but he believes the timing is not appropriate right now, as both he and “The Notorious” have unfinished business to resolve before they decide to fight again.
