Netflix is implementing a series of subscription price increases, a strategic move occurring just before the streaming giant hosts its highly anticipated inaugural live mixed martial arts (MMA) supercard. This event will feature the celebrated return of former UFC stars Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano, alongside other prominent fighters such as Nate Diaz, Mike Perry, Francis Ngannou, and Junior dos Santos.
The new pricing structure affects all major tiers. The standard plan, which includes advertisements, will now cost $8.99 per month, an increase from its previous $7.99. For subscribers opting for the ad-free standard experience, the monthly fee has risen from $17.99 to $19.99. Furthermore, the premium plan, which offers benefits like four concurrent user streams, is now priced at $26.99 per month, up from $24.99.
These updated rates are being introduced in advance of Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions fight card, headlined by Rousey and Carano, scheduled for May 16. This event marks a significant milestone for Netflix as it ventures into its first-ever live-streamed MMA broadcast.
