UFC 329 Books High-Stakes Bantamweight Rematch During International Fight Week

The fight card for UFC 329 is starting to take shape with significant additions. The event, scheduled for July 11th as the culmination of the annual International Fight Week, will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With the event less than three months away, fight bookings are in full swing. Reports indicate that former title contender Cory Sandhagen is slated to face the number 8 ranked bantamweight, Mario Bautista, in a crucial rematch. This bout comes over six years after their initial encounter.

Sandhagen and Bautista first met at UFC Brooklyn in January 2019. In that fight, Sandhagen secured a first-round submission victory over Bautista, who was making his promotional debut on short notice.

Sandhagen is heading into UFC 329 following a decisive unanimous decision loss to former bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili in a title fight at UFC 320 last October. Before this defeat, the 34-year-old Colorado native achieved a second-round TKO win against Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC Des Moines in May 2025. His current UFC record stands at 11-5, with an overall professional record of 18-6.

Bautista’s most recent outing was at UFC Vegas 113 in February. He rebounded from a unanimous decision loss to Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC 321 with a second-round submission victory over Vinicius Oliveira. The 32-year-old fighter from Nevada boasts a UFC record of 11-3 and an overall professional record of 17-3.

What Else is on the UFC 329 Card?

International Fight Week is consistently one of the UFC’s most anticipated events of the year, and UFC 329 is already shaping up to be a compelling fight card. Olympic gold medalist wrestler Gable Steveson is also confirmed to make his Octagon debut on July 11th, although his opponent has not yet been revealed.

In other matchups, former UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards is reportedly set to compete against veteran Daniel Rodriguez. The card also includes a middleweight bout between César Almeida and Damian Pinas, in addition to the bantamweight rematch between Cory Sandhagen and Mario Bautista.
