Hyu Targets First-Round Finish Against Suablack At ONE Fight Night 41
Hyu, an undefeated fighter, aims for a decisive victory on Friday night to maintain his perfect professional record.
The 23-year-old Japanese prodigy will face Suablack Tor Pran49 in a flyweight kickboxing showdown at ONE Fight Night 41: Sinsamut vs. Jarvis. The event will be broadcast live in U.S. primetime on March 13 from Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium.
Representing Team Mehdi Zatout and TEAM3K, Hyu expressed confidence in quickly asserting dominance, stating, "I think I’ll be in a dominant position within the first minute." He added that his training has focused on this approach, and he's "fully planning to go for the finish in the first round."
The undefeated fighter from Osaka boasts a flawless 12-0 professional record, including four victories in ONE Championship. His impressive run includes stoppages against Leandro Miranda and Zakaria El Jamari, plus a resilient third-round finish over Jordan Estupinan at ONE Fight Night 35 last September, which earned him a $50,000 bonus and cemented his reputation in the division.
Suablack, an affiliate of NP Suablack, presents a formidable challenge. With 62 career wins, he is renowned for his precise technical striking, exceptional fight intelligence, and formidable knockout power. His journey to this major stage was propelled by four consecutive knockout victories on the ONE Friday Fights platform, securing him a lucrative contract.
Hyu has meticulously analyzed Suablack's style, remarking on his "quite good" defense and his thoughtful approach to striking, where he considers his opponent's targets even while attacking. He described Suablack as an "outside boxer" who "uses his head a lot during the fight." However, Hyu also noted tactical weaknesses, specifically pinpointing Suablack’s left straight as his main offensive weapon and identifying a back-weighted stance that reveals potential openings for attack.
This karate-turned-kickboxing talent emphasizes his ability to adapt in real-time by reading opponents' attack patterns, considering his sense of distance his strongest asset. He stated, "I can read the opponent’s attack patterns and build my game plan during the fight. He’s physically very solid too, but I want to apply pressure in my usual way." His final declaration was clear: "I won’t let him escape."
