Lerone Murphy Predicts UFC London Winner Will Earn Title Shot

UFC featherweight contender Lerone Murphy recently offered his insights into his significant upcoming clash against Movsar Evloev, which is set to headline UFC London.

This Saturday, two elite featherweight contenders, Lerone Murphy and Movsar Evloev, are poised for a pivotal showdown in the main event of UFC London. Murphy is coming off a spectacular knockout triumph over Aaron Pico, a victory that significantly bolstered his standing among the world's best featherweights. Evloev, conversely, has maintained an unblemished record since entering the UFC, and he undoubtedly sees this fight as his prime opportunity to shine.

In a recent interview, Lerone Murphy shared his perspectives on the bout, stating, "It's a huge fight, and I am confident the winner will go on to become champion."

He also expressed admiration for the current champion, Alexander Volkanovski, who recently articulated his commitment to facing the most deserving contender. Murphy commented, "How can you not respect that? I have immense respect for it. Everyone respects Volkanovski. He’s a realist and one of the best to ever compete at featherweight. For him to make such a statement, I believe it truly embodies how the sport should be, and he is a commendable pioneer for it."

Focusing on the immediate challenge, Murphy emphasized, "I'm not looking past this Saturday. My sole focus is on giving my absolute best performance this Saturday, so I'm unsure when I'll step back into the octagon next. However, regardless of the result, my objective is to remain active. After the Pico fight, I was eagerly pushing for another bout and had expected to fight in December. I've been sidelined for around six or seven months. Frankly, at 34, you don't want to be taking such lengthy breaks, especially if you're healthy. For me, staying active is crucial. So, I aim to get back in there by the end of summer, no matter what."
