Tony Ferguson is establishing a winning pattern with Misfits Boxing.
“El Cucuy” successfully defended his middleweight title this past Saturday against Mahmoud Sebie. Ferguson was originally set to face Kenzo Biyong, but travel issues forced Biyong out. Sebie could not counter Ferguson’s pressure, leading to a second-round stoppage.
Though Sebie landed some heavy shots, Ferguson mentioned in his post-fight interview that he needed to be struck to focus. He acknowledged the ongoing grief from his mother’s recent passing but stated that the opponent’s punches helped him regain concentration before the finish.
This marks Ferguson’s third victory since his departure from the UFC. He also defeated Warren Spencer and Salt Papi. This Misfits run offers a crucial comeback for the 42-year-old, who left the UFC in early 2025 after eight consecutive losses.
Regarding his future, Ferguson had a brief post-fight exchange with Austin McBroom. They verbally agreed to a fight. McBroom recently secured a first-round knockout over Thomas Oliveira at the Brand Risk Promotions 15 main event.
Ferguson aims to maintain his winning streak. His only loss since leaving the UFC was in a freestyle wrestling match against Arman Tsarukyan under the RAF banner. Ferguson remains undefeated in influencer boxing, and McBroom is seeking to hand him his first loss in that domain.
